About The Position

The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Payroll Specialist, Edmonton Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in full-cycle payroll administration, including payroll processing, data validation, reconciliation, and application of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements, preferably within heavy industry or mining.
  • Post-secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail; advanced proficiency in payroll and time & attendance systems (e.g., SAP Success Factors, Avanti, or equivalent), with the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll transactions, including employee onboarding, status changes, retroactive adjustments, gross-up calculations, terminations, and validation of statutory and voluntary deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Lead payroll quality assurance and control processes by validating payroll input data, reconciling source documentation, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions to ensure payroll accuracy, risk mitigation, and audit readiness.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and verify payroll outputs, ensuring the accurate and timely payment of regular earnings, incentive payments, vacation pay, and other compensation elements across multiple payroll groups.
  • Administer payroll compliance activities by preparing and filing statutory documentation, including Records of Employment, year-end tax reporting, and other regulatory submissions, while supporting internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready payroll records and support documentation in accordance with corporate governance standards, data retention requirements, and confidentiality obligations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, collaborating with employees, leaders, Time & Attendance teams, Human Resources, and Finance stakeholders to provide guidance, resolve issues, and ensure the integrity of payroll information.
