About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves maintaining payroll records, addressing employee inquiries, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Canadian payroll experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Time and Labor systems

Responsibilities

  • Process employee payroll, including calculating hours worked, overtime, and deductions.
  • Verify payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports.
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Assist in preparing tax filings and reports.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and taxes.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with HRIS and Operational Improvement teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation.
