The Payroll Specialist will administer and maintain the electronic timekeeping system, enter data into payroll and administrative databases, and reconcile payroll prior to transmission. This role is responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely for multiple companies, including manual checks or ACHs when necessary. The specialist will also generate and report certified payrolls for prevailing wage jobs, report monthly hours and wages to unions, and manage the weekly submission of certified payroll reports across multiple states. Additionally, they will monitor and audit subcontractor certified payroll reports, determine payroll liabilities by processing tax information, 401K transfers, direct deposits, child support, wage assignments, and garnishments. The position involves responding to customer inquiries, performing account balance and general ledger reconciliations, making journal entries, and assisting with audit preparations. Year-end reporting (W-2, W-2C) is also a key responsibility. The role requires strict adherence to data privacy and confidentiality policies.
