About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage and process weekly payroll for a growing organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and supporting compliance with applicable wage and hour regulations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience processing weekly payroll required
  • Strong knowledge of California payroll laws and wage & hour compliance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Paylocity preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for employees in an accurate and timely manner using Paylocity
  • Review, audit, and validate timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, and deductions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and pay discrepancies
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with general ledger entries as needed
  • Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports to management
  • Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and audits
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure alignment on employee data and payroll accuracy
