About The Position

The Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in ADM’s Corporate Payroll team. In this fast paced, customer service driven environment, the Payroll Specialist will interact with a diverse workforce including colleagues and management with top level visibility. In line with ADM’s core values, a successful candidate will demonstrate dedication to confidentiality and operational excellence with a focus on the customer. The individual in this role will gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience in an area of Payroll that interacts daily with colleagues and management from all levels of the organization. Excellent customer service is a must for this role as you direct and advise on personnel decisions of colleagues professional lives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of general office/accounting experience; payroll experience preferred
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting/mathematical procedures is required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and a firm attention to detail are a must
  • Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking forms
  • Knowledge of ADM business units/structure preferred
  • Superior attention to detail with the ability to locate discrepancies
  • Motivation to be innovative with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Exceptional customer service, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to set goals, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable making quick/calculated decisions
  • Knowledge of IBM (CICS & IMS) and MDM systems
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phone

Responsibilities

  • Process US and Canadian hourly payroll, with accuracy and timeliness
  • Apply complex problem-solving skills to remediate any processing errors
  • Apply discretion in decision-making for maintaining compliance as well as a high level of customer service
  • Communicate effectively with local management teams to ensure accurate payroll processing
  • Approach process and system with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Maintain data compliantly and securely
  • Complete balancing with accuracy for W2 and T4 processing
  • Consistently review employee status and update as needed
  • Ensure accurate process documentation inclusive of manuals and SOP’s
  • Provide guidance and support to ADM employees timely, accurately and professionally
  • Collaborate with management and other departments across the organization for top notch customer service
