About The Position

This position will work as part of the team which is accountable for executing ADM’s North America corn export program. This team is responsible for developing trading strategies to enhance division and company profits. Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the origination, logistics, basis trading and position management of ADM’s White Corn program to Latin America in addition to Non-GMO corn program to Japan. Additionally this position will help the team manage yellow corn origination and logistics.

Requirements

  • University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting) supplemented with a minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in the marketing/trading of commodities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment.
  • Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.
  • Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment.
  • Initiate a discussion and share your intentions with your supervisor before applying if you’ve been in your current position for less than 18 months.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the origination, logistics, basis trading and position management of ADM’s White Corn program to Latin America.
  • Manage the origination, logistics, basis trading and position management of ADM’s Non-GMO corn program to Japan.
  • Help the team manage yellow corn origination and logistics.
  • Analyze and forecast fundamental global white corn market trends and competitor activities, revising marketing strategies and programs to capitalize on identified opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities with to works with new suppliers.
  • Interact with key customer accounts and maintain ongoing and regular communications with customers to enhance relationships and customer service.
  • Work closely with various internal groups, both domestically and internationally, to help maximize the potential of ADM’s vast network.
  • Represent the grain division on various external meetings, committees and associations in developing and influencing the industry and promoting ADM interests.
  • Create an environment which fosters teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Track progress towards the achievement of business plans and objectives, as outlined, and initiates action as required.
  • Prepare and submit regular and ad hoc reports to the regarding achievements, opportunities, and issues.
