Payroll Specialist
About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist with a strong focus on California Payroll Compliance. The ideal candidate will manage non-exempt payroll, enforce accountability with supervisors and managers, and assess risk. Our client uses Rippling for payroll software but is flexible with other systems. The specialist will own the payroll process, monitor meal and rest breaks, ensure compliance with final pay requirements, and prevent payroll penalties. Requirements
- Expertise in California payroll compliance and wage-and-hour laws.
- Experience with non-exempt payroll management.
- Strong skills in payroll risk management.
- Ability to enforce manager accountability.
- Proficiency in using payroll software, ideally Rippling, but flexibility with other systems is acceptable.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in HR support is advantageous.
- Capability to handle payroll duties 75% of the time and HR responsibilities 25% of the time initially.
- Potential to grow into a senior payroll leadership position.
Responsibilities
