About The Position

The Payroll Specialist role ensures the accurate and compliant processing of the Firm's payroll using specialized software. This position supports payroll operations by maintaining data integrity and addressing employee inquiries. The Payroll Specialist works to ensure payroll practices meet government compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of payroll and basic accounting functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to respond efficiently to requests while adhering to deadlines.
  • Advanced data entry skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years payroll experience

Nice To Haves

  • Workday payroll processing experience preferred within a high-volume team.
  • Knowledge of AI tools, specifically Co-Pilot

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Accurate data entry of the HRIS/Payroll system.
  • Apply Firm policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Process payroll corrections as required; escalate issues to Payroll Manager.
  • Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Responsible for accurately processing all wage garnishments, levies, and child support deductions.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reporting as needed.
  • Work closely with HR, finance, and employees to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Address inquiries and research issues in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with regular audit of data entry records.
  • Maintain accurate firmwide records.
  • Special projects and duties assigned.
