About The Position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, managing reports and timecard adjustments, and handling employee transfers, promotions, and terminations. This role involves auditing employee personnel files for compliance, verifying hours worked for credentialing, and completing garnishments, paid sick leave adjustments, and KPI updates. The specialist will also provide support to the HR team on various HR-related topics, direct employees to the appropriate HR personnel, and promote HR programs to foster an efficient and conflict-free workplace. Additionally, the role contributes to the development and implementation of human resource policies and requires maintaining timely and reliable attendance. A key aspect of this position is ensuring compliance with all company and government regulatory standards in compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employment law, and diversity. The role also includes performing life-saving measures when needed to protect clients and employees, applying trauma-responsive practices, and training or assisting in the training of co-workers. Other duties as assigned are also part of this role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Human Resources (required)
  • Have completed 12 years of education or GED.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required or equivalent experience (required).

Responsibilities

  • Process Payroll.
  • Manage reports and timecard adjustments.
  • Manage employee transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Audit employee personnel files to ensure compliance.
  • Verify hours worked for credentialing.
  • Complete garnishments, paid sick leave adjustments, and KPI updates.
  • Provide support to HR team in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation, etc., and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Direct employees to the prospective HR Generalist/Specialist/Assistant based on qualifying reasons.
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
  • Maintain timely and reliable attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and government regulatory standards in compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employment law, and diversity.
  • Perform life-saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees.
  • Consistently applies trauma-responsive practices to promote safety, trust, and healing.
  • Train or assist in the trainings of co-workers as needed.
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
