About The Position

As a Payroll Specialist, you will own the end-to-end execution of weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience. Your work directly supports organizational growth by maintaining data integrity, resolving complex payroll issues, and strengthening timekeeping and payroll processes.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and timekeeping
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paycor preferred)
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset
  • Ability to handle confidential information

Responsibilities

  • Execute and audit weekly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with wage-hour laws and company policies
  • Review and validate timekeeping data, including overtime, shift differentials, and PTO
  • Manage payroll changes such as deductions, tax updates, garnishments, and direct deposit entries
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including off-cycle payroll processing when needed
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee payroll and timekeeping inquiries
  • Maintain and optimize Paycor system configurations in partnership with leadership
  • Support payroll tax reporting, 401(k) validation, and internal/external audits
  • Analyze payroll trends and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and scalability
  • Develop documentation, SOPs, and training materials for payroll and timekeeping processes
