The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, managing reports and timecard adjustments, and handling employee transfers, promotions, and terminations. This role involves auditing employee personnel files for compliance, verifying hours worked for credentialing, and completing garnishments, paid sick leave adjustments, and KPI updates. The specialist will also provide support to the HR team on various HR-related topics, direct employees to the appropriate HR personnel, and promote HR programs to foster an efficient and conflict-free workplace. Additionally, this position assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies, maintains timely and reliable attendance, and ensures compliance with all company and government regulatory standards in compensation, benefits, affirmative action, employment law, and diversity. The role also includes performing life-saving measures when needed, applying trauma-responsive practices, and training or assisting in the training of co-workers as required. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
