About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Payroll Specialist - Limited Term Agreement. This position is a benefitted, Limited Term Agreement and is funded through June 30, 2027 and may be eligible for renewal based on need and performance in the role.

Requirements

Associates degree in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
5 years of experience processing full-cycle payroll (municipal experience preferred)
working with automated timecard software
tax filing
auditing and reconciling Federal and State taxes
daily payroll operations
providing internal and external customer service
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

Reviews and inputs Federal and State tax and employee direct deposit information and changes.
Respond to payroll-related requests for information from internal departments, employees, and outside agencies.
Audit bi-weekly timecards, make necessary corrections, and prepare queries to review for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to Personnel Policies.
Process timecard imports in the payroll software to generate checks, direct deposits, and reports.
Analyze various reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll; make manual adjustments as needed.
