Dematic is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support multi-state payroll processing. This role requires strong communication and time management skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. The position is hybrid, requiring three days in-office, and can be based in Grand Rapids, MI or Milwaukee, WI. Requirements

4+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably multi-state payroll.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
Previous experience using UKG Workforce Management Time and Attendance, ADP Workforce Now, Workday, or similar payroll systems.
Expertise in Excel including experience with vlookup, xlookup and pivot tables.
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
Proficiency in basic accounting and business software.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of US benefit plans and North American (US, Canada & Mexico) payroll processes is a plus.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and process multi-state payroll for U.S. hourly employees (1500+) and provide Canada support (300+ employees) in collaboration with the Payroll team.
Verify the accuracy of employee information in payroll systems: Workday, ADP WFN Canada, and UKG Workforce Management.
Prepare and distribute various reports to departments and managers.
Respond to inquiries from employees and 3rd party agencies.
Participate in the integration of mergers and acquisitions.
Participate in system implementations and identify, analyze, and improve business processes within the department for optimization or standards of quality.
Collaborate with the human resource information system to ensure integration requirements are accurately implemented.
