About The Position

Fix It Group is one of the fastest-growing residential home service companies in the country, supporting multiple HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical brands across several states. We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our corporate team and ensure our employees are paid accurately, timely, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple locations and companies.
  • Experience with complex compensation plans, including commissions, bonuses, and incentive pay.
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines.
  • Strong Excel and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BambooHR, Paylocity, UKG, ADP, Paycom, or similar payroll/HRIS systems is preferred.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely payroll for multiple companies and locations across several states.
  • Administer weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees with various compensation structures, including hourly, salary, commissions, bonuses, piece-rate, and incentive pay.
  • Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy before processing.
  • Review and reconcile employee timecards, commissions, deductions, garnishments, and payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and wage and hour regulations.
  • Process new hires, terminations, pay changes, direct deposits, and employee record updates.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audits.
  • Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.
