About The Position

Brandeis University is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist in the payroll department. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for deadline driven and accurate end-to-end payroll administration. This position is responsible for the auditing many aspects of payroll data within the exempt and non-exempt payrolls. The Payroll Specialist supports the Brandeis community via data processing, data analytics, and responding to a large spectrum of questions from the community to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. This position handles confidential information and must ensure compliance with university policies as well as state and federal legal requirements. This position requires exceptional customer service skills to handle a wide range of employee types and the problems that each unique employee type might encounter. The salary range for the position is $56 - 62K (annualized, will be paid hourly).

Requirements

• AS or equivalent (BA/BS preferred)
• 3-5 years related experience

Responsibilities

• Assists in all aspects of the processing of the Weekly and Semi Monthly payrolls. Processes off cycle on demand payments and manual adjustments.
• Analyze and audit data from reports to ensure payroll processing accuracy. Run and review the retro process for the weekly and semi monthly payrolls. Work with HR as well as other areas to audit, identify, and correct data for all employee types.
• Identification, analysis, and resolution of payroll issues from the payroll queue, phone, or in person. Supports processing Foreign National Information and other related Foreign National inquires using Sprintax Calculus. Audits unentered, unsubmitted, and unapproved time in the weekly payroll. Audits payment elections and check registers to encourage proper setups and authenticity.
• As required from Payroll Manager - improving processes, identify reporting needs, reviewing other data audits, etc.
• Supports and serves as the back up to the Cashier. Possible tasks involve helping customers at the payroll/cashier window, scanning checks, logging and receiving cash/checks from the community.
