About The Position

Under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of assigned company codes in a semi-monthly multi-state payroll. This is an entry level position, training will be provided!

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, time management skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem solving capabilities must be strong.
  • Good judgment and tactful customer service skills are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word / Excel; familiarity with ADP is necessary
  • Understanding of employee benefits and deductions
  • Ability to secure, safeguard and maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  • Ability to work under direction and supervision of others.
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in accounting, business or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of payroll data.
  • Process semi-monthly payrolls; update and maintain accurate payroll records including salary changes, wage garnishments, benefit deductions, payroll taxing, vacation/PTO accruals.
  • Collect non-exempt time cards weekly and follow up on time card discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Payroll Supervisor to resolve payroll and time & attendance issues.
  • Support payroll & HR team in producing and creating reports from ADP as required.
  • Act as back-up for other payroll specialists as needed.
