About The Position

The Payroll Specialist plays a key role in supporting Atlas employees by ensuring they are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with all applicable laws. This role supports trust, stability, and financial well-being across the organization by maintaining reliable payroll processes and clear communication. You’ll work closely with Corporate Functions to process payroll, resolve issues, and maintain accurate records—helping Atlas teams stay focused on delivering meaningful, community-impacting work.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience in payroll or a similar role
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Experience with ADP payroll systems (ADP Lyric preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills for reviewing and organizing payroll data
  • A detail-oriented mindset and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Apply deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other pay variables correctly
  • Reconcile payroll data prior to processing and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policy and legal requirements
  • Support payroll reporting, including tax filings and year-end documents (W-2s, 1099s)
  • Respond to employee payroll questions with clarity, care, and professionalism
