Assist in the processing of in-house payroll and handling related activities for the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience handling computerized, multi-state payroll administration (preferably in-house) and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations in multi-state environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills (reporting, data analysis, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity of imports/exports.
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on highly complex assignments.
  • Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
  • Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
  • Assist with processing and reconciling payroll biweekly.
  • Ensure submission of timesheets.
  • Create basic ad-hoc reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions as required by management.
  • Prepare and issue paychecks.
  • Calculate and audit timesheets and make corrections as necessary.
  • Process labor adjustments.
  • Establish and maintain payroll files in accordance with audit requirements.
  • Maintain records of leave and nontaxable wages.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Research payroll tax issues and manage tax applications.
  • Process new hires, terminations, manual/out of cycle checks, bonuses, salary adjustments, garnishments, and new hire state reporting.
  • Create basic ad-hoc reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions as required by management.
  • Respond to audit requests and provide requested documentation.
