About The Position

The payroll specialist II is responsible for payroll processing in their assigned geography. This role involves preparing and processing multiple weekly, biweekly, and monthly US & International payrolls accurately and efficiently. The specialist will also be responsible for auditing employee payroll and tax records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and filing necessary reports on time. Communication with XPEL staff at all levels to address payroll inquiries is a key aspect of this position, as is processing wage orders, liens, and miscellaneous payroll deductions. The role requires balancing payroll by identifying and resolving discrepancies, ensuring adherence to company policies and government laws, and managing data entry and report distribution. The ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain a strong sense of privacy and professionalism is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of beginning to end payroll processing experience
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office Suite
  • Analytical and strong proven problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to work and excel in a team environment
  • Desire to work in an evolving environment; must be willing to embrace change quickly
  • Commitment to professionalism in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and management
  • Proven ability to maintain good work habits, including punctuality and regular attendance
  • Proficient in English – reading, writing, speaking
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish, French, German, or Dutch is highly desirable but not required
  • International payroll experience highly desirable but not required
  • Multi-state tax experience highly desirable but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process multiple weekly, biweekly and monthly US & International payrolls in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
  • Process manual checks when necessary.
  • Perform audits on employee payroll records and employee payroll tax records to ensure accuracy and compliance with both state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for verifying city, state and federal reports are filed on time and accurately (quarterly, annually, W-2s, etc.).
  • Work with federal, state, and local compliance and taxation agencies.
  • Process changes to employee records in the various payroll systems including regularly auditing data for accuracy and completion.
  • Process all wage orders/ liens from government agencies.
  • Run and file all payroll related reports by deadlines provided by management.
  • Communicate with XPEL staff at all levels of the organization to respond to payroll questions from employees and managers.
  • Accurately enter and process garnishments in Payroll System.
  • Accurately enter and process misc. payroll deductions in Payroll System.
  • Provide training to managers as needed relating to Time and Attendance.
  • Balance payroll by auditing information, identifying, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and Government Laws and Regulations.
  • Enter, upload, and download data into and from spreadsheets.
  • Run and distribute payroll reports.
  • Ability to move between tasks quickly with interruptions and still meet strict deadlines.
