About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Student to join our team for a paid internship or co-op placement. The Payroll Student will support our Payroll team with day-to-day payroll administration, employee inquiries, benefits and pension administration, and month-end and year-end activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate, looking to gain hands-on experience in payroll operations, HR administration, and employee support.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Payroll, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with payroll systems; Dayforce experience is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, and pension administration is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining and updating employee information in Dayforce.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide support related to payroll, benefits, and pension plans.
  • Support payroll administration activities, including data entry, record maintenance, and document management.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits and pension plans, including enrollments, updates, and employee communications.
  • Provide administrative support for payroll-related processes and reporting.
  • Assist with payroll-related payables, invoice processing, and reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including data validation and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and other payroll documentation.
  • Ensure employee records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information at all times.
  • Participate in special projects and other payroll-related duties as assigned.
