About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs is hiring a Summer Payroll Intern at our Burns Harbor, Indiana location. This internship offers hands-on experience and exposure to corporate accounting at a Fortune 500 company. The Payroll Intern handles a variety of payroll functions, including preparing accurate employee payroll data, partnering with cross-functional teams to meet submission deadlines, reconciling payroll, and supporting internal and external customers.

Requirements

Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Accounting, Finance, or another Business-related field
Must have completed at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027
Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Process all aspects of the payroll for assigned Companies, including ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and maintaining appropriate support.
Comply with all applicable governmental laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, garnishments, federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
Provide support to both internal and external customers to ensure requests are met in a timely and accurate manner.
Work effectively with third-party vendors, i.e., Fidelity, MetLife, etc.
Provide problem resolutions with payroll-related inquiries.
Assist in identifying and developing system and process improvements resulting in enhanced control, accuracy, and efficiency.
Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
Additional duties as assigned or required.
