About The Position

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) is hiring a Payroll Coordinator to join their Fiscal Team. This role performs a variety of accounting, payroll, and administrative support functions within the Fiscal Department. The position is responsible for processing payroll activities, supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with routine accounting processes. The Payroll Coordinator collaborates with Fiscal Department staff, Human Resources, program personnel, and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. This position receives cross-training in multiple fiscal functions and serves as a backup resource to support continuity of operations. The position requires full-time, in-office work during the probationary period. Following successful completion of the probationary period, employees may transition to a hybrid schedule, subject to business and operational needs. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or 2 – 3 years of related experience in accounting, payroll, financial reporting, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, access to reliable transportation and willingness and ability to travel within the CVOEO service area and the ability to uphold safety standards

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Experience preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial information preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
