This position is required to work in the Lacombe Central office. However, periodically may be asked to work in other AFSC branches. Travel in these circumstances will be reimbursed according to AFSC’s Employee and Board of Directors Expense Policy. Reporting to the Team Leader People Operations, the primary responsibility of this position is Payroll administration for salaried and hourly wage staff, including the responsibility of the Corporation’s Board of Directors remuneration. As well as, providing guidance to all levels of staff with policy interpretation and application in the areas of pay, time and attendance. What will your growth opportunities look like in this role? Requirements

  • Experience with Dayforce HCM system.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Solid knowledge of payroll legislation, deductions, and pension administration.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • High School Diploma
  • Canadian Payroll Certification
  • 3 years related experience

Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain payroll information, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
  • Update employee records, earnings, deductions, and employment status changes within the payroll system.
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, bank submissions, and financial system entries.
  • Administer employee deduction and pension programs, including TFSA, RRSP, PSPP, MEPP, and MSRP.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Prepare year-end payroll reconciliations, T4 and T4A tax slips, CRA returns, and audit support documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the efficient operation of payroll services.
