About the role As a Payroll Connections Specialist, you will be responsible for enabling and optimizing payroll integrations for our clients. This critical role involves ensuring integrations function flawlessly and overseeing the client’s first 401(k) contribution. You are a great fit for this role if you default to action, comfortably figure things out as you go, and can flexibly adapt to shifting responsibilities—from stakeholder communication to managing shared team inboxes and more. You will work closely with Sales Activation, Payroll Partners, Product, Customer Success, and Operations departments to ensure seamless and accurate data integration across all systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional role demonstrating strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • At least 1 year of dedicated customer service experience paired with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A robust work ethic and a proven ability to manage projects, work independently, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience working with retirement plans or payroll providers, alongside a general grasp of governing industry regulations.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to various HRIS/client systems, troubleshoot software issues, and execute solutions under tight timelines.
  • A passion for process improvement, a desire to master new programs, and a demonstrated ability to effectively champion change.
  • Extreme, uncompromised attention to detail and a commitment to quality output.
  • Exceptional PC literacy, including advanced expertise across the G-Suite product ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Be the main point of contact for clients, responsible for helping them establish technical integrations with 400+ payroll providers
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of payroll provider systems and interrogate incoming payroll data for accuracy and completeness
  • Use problem-solving and decision-making skills to navigate technical issues which impact the flow of data between the client, Human Interest, and the payroll partner
  • Accurately evaluate data discrepancies and work independently to make appropriate adjustments, with the understanding that they impact our clients and millions of dollars in assets under management
  • Assist in drafting procedures detailing the flow of payroll-related information, while demonstrating an understanding of SEC, DOL, and IRS regulations that impact our business
  • Investigate technology issues, identify root causes, and work with various departments to develop and implement solutions
  • Independently guide clients through data analysis and assist with their data transmission efforts
  • Communicate professionally to both internal and external clients while focusing on needs-driven solutions
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in leading projects which may broadly impact our business
