About The Position

The Payroll Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to the entire Payroll Compliance team. This role involves triaging Service Now tickets, managing submissions for monthly health & welfare and pension payments, and handling mass union benefit deduction changes within the payroll system. The specialist will also prepare weekly Union 401K and Supplemental Benefits reporting for payment processing and submit employee data to various third-party trusts. This position supports employees represented by Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreement language and interpretation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with payroll processing or benefits administration.
  • Experience with Service Now or other customer service ticketing systems.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, v/x lookup, and data queries.
  • Experience with DOL Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Regular Rate of Pay calculation.
  • Knowledge of State and Local payroll laws.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience supporting high-volume administrative or payroll operations, including processing sensitive documents, accurate records management, and performing data entry in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Run reports in Workday to obtain employee Union 401K, AFLAC, and other Voluntary Benefit deductions for weekly reporting and payment upload to Accounts Payable.
  • Create union medical deductions manually or via mass upload in Workday based on CBA language or renewal.
  • Remit employee detail for monthly health & welfare and pension payments according to third-party submission instructions.
  • Review, respond to, or assign Service Now tickets related to union benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR Management, Finance Staff, HRIS, Field Management, and union third-party trusts to address union benefit questions.
  • Assist the Payroll Compliance Analyst with running payroll reports, collecting documents, and uploading data for union audits.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
