About The Position

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own end-to-end payroll processing and benefits administration across our growing family of regional brands. This role manages both bi-weekly W-2 employee payroll and weekly 1099 subcontractor payments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across multiple divisions and pay schedules. The ideal candidate is highly organized and confident handling sensitive employee and contractor data with discretion.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience; experience handling both W-2 and 1099 payment cycles strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of or direct experience with benefits administration, including group health plans and 401(k) programs.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, or similar) and standard HRIS platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of maintaining accuracy across high-volume, multi-schedule payroll runs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable working across multiple entities, cost centers, or brand divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for all W-2 employees across OGD's brand divisions, ensuring accurate hours, overtime, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Process weekly payment runs for 1099 subcontractors.
  • Collect and reconcile timekeeping data from field technicians, install crews, and office staff against payroll system entries.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions comply with federal and local wage-and-hour laws.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee pay inquiries, and subcontractor payment disputes in a timely, professional manner.
  • Support day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), PTO, and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Process enrollment, changes, and terminations in coordination with the company's benefits broker and plan carriers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, ensuring clear and accurate communication of plan details.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment logistics, employee communications, and enrollment data accuracy.
  • Reconcile 401(k) contribution files, employer match calculations, and nondiscrimination testing data requests from the plan administrator.
