About The Position

United Flow Technologies (UFT) is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to play a key role in supporting its growing, multi-state workforce. This is a hands-on leadership position where the successful candidate will oversee payroll and benefits operations, lead a team of three, and serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers. The role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by ensuring payroll is accurate and timely, benefits are effectively administered, compliance requirements are met, and employees receive responsive support. UFT is looking for someone who is detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and enjoys being involved in both the day-to-day work and the bigger picture. This is a fully onsite, Monday–Friday position based in their Irving, TX office.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience processing multi-state payroll from start to finish.
  • Experience preparing and managing certified payroll, including prevailing wage and government contract compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, taxes, deductions, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience administering employee benefits, including open enrollment.
  • Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of FMLA and leave administration.
  • Experience working with third-party payroll, benefits, and insurance vendors.
  • Prior experience leading or managing a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday in Irving, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process multi-state payroll, ensuring timely and accurate pay, tax withholdings, deductions, and compliance.
  • Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll records and partner with internal teams and vendors to support payroll operations.
  • Administer certified payroll reporting and ensure compliance with prevailing wage and government contract requirements.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including enrollments, eligibility, deductions, vendor coordination, and open enrollment.
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions and resolve coverage or billing issues.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and support benefits-related reporting and audits.
  • Administer FMLA and other leave programs, coordinating with employees, managers, and third-party providers.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, tracking, and employee communication throughout the leave process.
  • Lead, coach, and support the payroll and benefits team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.
  • Establish priorities, monitor workload, and ensure accurate and timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, and employment regulations.
  • Support audits, reporting requirements, and other payroll and benefits-related projects as needed.
