About The Position

A well-established construction and steel fabrication company is seeking a Payroll & HR Coordinator to support operations across their two affiliated businesses. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role designed for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their skills in payroll, compliance, and HR administration. This position works closely with the CFO, providing support on payroll, benefits administration, employee onboarding / offboarding, and various compliance reporting functions. You’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across both companies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll, HR, or accounting support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Eagerness to learn and grow into broader accounting and HR responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll and benefits administration a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payrolls for both the General Contracting & Steel Fabrication company
  • Manage employee onboarding and terminations
  • Administer 401(k) contributions and ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Oversee group insurance enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Coordinate open enrollment and employee communications
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality
  • Assist with weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll reporting
  • Help prepare documentation for audits and insurance renewals
  • Maintain all corporate licensing for both companies, including: State, County, and City-level business licenses, Contractor licenses and renewals, Annual reports and compliance filings, Withholding and unemployment account maintenance
  • Maintain organized and secure employee files for both companies
  • Support employee-related activities and communications
  • Provide assistance with various administrative and accounting tasks as needed
