About The Position

Payroll & Billing Assistant SummitWest Care | Grand Junction, CO $19–$26/hour (DOE) Full-Time | Monday–Friday Keep Payroll Accurate. Keep Operations Running Smoothly. SummitWest Care is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll & Billing Assistant to support our Human Resources and Finance teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, values accuracy, and takes pride in keeping things organized and running on time. You'll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and that payroll and billing processes are handled with care and precision. As a local nonprofit home health agency serving Mesa County, we offer a supportive, mission-driven environment where your work directly supports both our team and the clients we serve.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1+ year of payroll, HR, or administrative experience
  • Experience with payroll systems (iSolved or similar preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

Responsibilities

  • Compile, review, and enter payroll data including timecards, PTO, garnishments, and benefit deductions
  • Audit payroll information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate with department leaders regarding missing or incorrect time records
  • Assist with payroll processing and system updates
  • Support payroll calculations such as wages, adjustments, and mileage
  • Maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Generate internal payroll and financial reports
  • Partner with HR on employee changes including new hires, terminations, and deductions
  • Assist with billing tasks, reporting, and administrative support as needed
