About The Position

TradeWinds Resort is currently seeking an Payroll and Accounting Specialist, who will play a key role in supporting our team members and overall operations by ensuring accurate payroll processing and contributing to key accounting functions including support for accounts payable and accounts receivable. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys a fast-paced setting, thrives on accuracy, demonstrates initiative, and is eager to collaborate with the accounting team.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of experience in payroll and/or accounting, including AP and AR
  • Experience utilizing Dayforce, Oracle and Opera preferred
  • Experience processing payroll in a mid- to large-sized organization preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll regulations and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in payroll and accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule in conjunction with Complex Assistant Director of Finance in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Maintain payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and tax information
  • Review timekeeping and payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Review, troubleshoot, and resolve any errors or inconsistencies
  • Responsible for monitoring daily time and attendance and coordinating with management across all departments to align time clock record keeping and hours worked
  • Process and distribute employee tips, commissions, and incentive earnings based on POS reports and departmental submissions; ensure accuracy and timely inclusion in payroll
  • Coordinate with HR on employee payroll needs and record changes
  • Responsible for receiving employee checks, organizing, and distributing to departments in a timely manner
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries with professionalism, a sense of urgency, and confidentiality
  • Distribute the daily payroll report to managers
  • Maintain timekeeping and payroll records in compliance with company’s SOPs
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
  • Support accounts payable and receivable
  • Provide general accounting support to the finance team as needed
