About The Position

QC Holdings Companies (QCHI) is seeking a Payroll Administrator responsible for the effective execution of the payroll process for a multi-state, 900+ employee organization. QCHI is a leading customer-focused provider of convenient financial solutions, specializing in alternative financial services and credit solutions for consumers and small businesses underserved by traditional banking institutions. Founded in 1984 and based in Lenexa, KS, QCHI has over 350 locations across 13 states and operations in Canada. Requirements

  • 2 years of in-house payroll/payroll tax production experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work across departmental lines.
  • Working knowledge of payroll federal/state/local/county laws.
  • Prior payroll/tax experience in a multi-state, multi-company organization.
  • Knowledge of payroll system functionality, report writing software, and solid MS Office skills are critical.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree, may be offset with prior work experience.
  • Experience with UKG products – UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management timekeeping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day issues and processing of payroll/tax functions.
  • Maintain accurate processing and balancing of payroll/tax payments.
  • Function as primary/backup for ancillary payroll responsibilities, such as benefit/insurance reconciliation and 401(k) contributions.
  • Assist with the year-end process, including W-2s and balancing year-end totals.
  • Serve as a point of contact in the Payroll Supervisor/Manager's absence.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the payroll operating system.
  • Interact with the Accounting/GL team and Human Resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
