About The Position

At Air Methods, every employee plays a role in supporting our mission of providing critical care and air medical transport to communities across the country. The Payroll Administrator serves as a key member of that mission by ensuring our pilots, clinicians, mechanics, and support teams are paid accurately and on time. This position is responsible for processing payroll, auditing payroll data, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining payroll accuracy across a complex workforce of more than 3,000 employees. The ideal candidate combines strong UKG expertise with exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure payroll integrity, compliance, and a positive employee experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience utilizing UKG payroll systems.
  • Experience processing payroll for a large organization with 3,000 or more employees.
  • Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation experience with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour requirements, tax withholding, and payroll best practices.
  • Advanced attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule using UKG.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Audit payroll reports and identify discrepancies, imbalances, and variances prior to payroll submission.
  • Investigate payroll exceptions and work with Human Resources, managers, and employees to resolve issues.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure employee pay, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related transactions are processed correctly.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and support payroll balancing activities.
  • Assist with payroll compliance activities, including tax reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support payroll process improvements and documentation efforts.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
