About The Position

The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives. ARC Command Headquarters is seeking a Payroll Accountant to support the ARCC Accountant with various payroll and accounting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 5 years’ experience in payroll/accounting or similar position
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High regard for and ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Experience with UKG

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining payroll files
  • Entering information into the Paychex and/or UKG system
  • Receiving and maintaining attendance records
  • Auditing eligibility/payment of paid absences
  • Processing payroll
  • Processing Officer allowance forms for approval
  • Preparing any needed hand checks
  • Maintaining file of housekeeping vouchers
  • Reviewing Paychex/UKG reports and W-2’s for accuracy
  • Computing Christmas bonuses
  • Acting as custodian for secondary petty cash fund
  • Balancing payroll
  • Reconciling Paychex records regarding health and voluntary benefits
  • Completing quarterly pension remittance forms
  • Completing monthly operating bank reconciliation
  • Processing monthly and annual mileage logs
  • Approving credit card transactions as directed
  • Attending training conferences as requested
  • Being back up to the ARCC Accountant
