About The Position

Huntington is seeking a Senior Programmer/Analyst with GCP experience to support development and ongoing enhancement of its Enterprise Payments platform. The role implements cloud-native solutions across a Java backend, including REST API development, supports event-driven payment processing, and helps maintain application stability in production. The position partners with IS Tech Specialists, architects, and business analysts to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available payment solutions in accordance with enterprise standards and best practices. The successful candidate will bring hands-on development skills, experience working in agile teams, and the ability to deliver features independently while escalating design decisions and complex issues to senior technical leaders as appropriate. The position includes developing and maintaining Java backend services and APIs; building cloud-native applications on GCP; contributing to DevSecOps practices; and supporting incident, problem, change management, and production operations, including a scheduled on-call rotation. The role also works with onsite and offshore teams to deliver technical and testing artifacts that meet Huntington's coding and testing guidelines. The position is classified as exempt and office-based. Specific work arrangements may be provided by the hiring team. The annual base compensation range is $49,925–$92,575, with eligibility to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
At least 1 year of related experience, or successful completion of Huntington's Technical Youth training or a portion of its apprenticeship training program in lieu of related experience.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to balance development and support responsibilities and work effectively with business segments, IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications on GCP, with strong proficiency in Java (Spring/Spring Boot) and GCP.
At least 3 years of experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
At least 3 years of experience supporting infrastructure-as-code automation, preferably Terraform.
At least 3 years of coding or scripting experience, preferably Java.
Experience building and supporting secure RESTful APIs and asynchronous, event-driven integrations; OAuth2/OIDC or similar authentication approaches are preferred.
Experience with cloud technologies and multiple platform environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, IaC/Terraform, Agile delivery, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, cloud security, IAM, and policy validation using Terraform Validator, OPA, or Rego.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale payment or financial systems and knowledge of payment processing concepts such as ACH, checks, debit/credit/corporate cards, Zelle, and bill pay.
Experience using monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Zenoss, and Splunk, as well as log files, to assess mission-critical production application health and identify performance or functional root causes.
Exposure to AI-assisted development or automation tools.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
Self-motivated problem-solving ability and the capacity to thrive in dynamic environments and contribute as a strong team player.
Card product and processing experience, expense management experience, and/or financial services industry experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Develop and maintain backend services using Java, such as Spring Boot.
Design, build, and version RESTful APIs, including contract-first design, documentation, and integration testing within the payments ecosystem.
Develop solutions using GCP services, command-line tools, and integrations.
Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native applications on GCP, including serverless and container-based solutions using Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and/or GKE.
Build and maintain APIs using Apigee or GCP API Gateway.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code that follows enterprise standards.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Provide production support, including participation in a scheduled on-call rotation.
Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to deliver technical and testing artifacts, including code, design documentation, and test deliverables, while following Huntington coding and testing guidelines.
Deliver solutions using DevSecOps toolchains and processes.
Assist in solving hardware or software problems and diagnose complex technical issues involving performance, availability, integrations, databases, middleware, and networks.
Use technical tools for systems development and support, and maintain knowledge of relevant industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.
May help identify training needs or train less experienced staff.
