About The Position

Atlantic is seeking a Payments Specialist III to play a critical role in our payments operations. This is more than a processing position, it's an opportunity to become a subject matter expert in modern payment systems, fraud prevention, risk management, and emerging payment technologies while partnering with leaders across the organization. The role involves owning complex payment operations, resolving escalated issues, supporting fraud and risk mitigation, improving processes and controls, and protecting operational quality.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of related payments, operations, banking, credit union, or financial services experience.
• Associate degree, specialized certification, vendor training program, apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and learning new platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own complex payment operations including debit cards, wire transfers, electronic funds transfers, payment investigations, and high-risk payment programs.
• Resolve escalated issues by researching transactions, identifying root causes, and supporting members and internal teams.
• Support fraud and risk mitigation efforts in partnership with the Fraud team.
• Improve processes and controls by identifying efficiencies, reducing risk, and enhancing the member experience.
• Protect operational quality through quality reviews, trend analysis, documentation, and cross-training support.
