Payment Product Operations Specialist

WiseAustin, TX
Onsite

About The Position

We’re looking for an exceptional Payment Product Operations Specialist to join our North America Payment Operations team right here in Austin. This is a dynamic position where you will sit at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Operations. You will be the architect of our scalability in the USD and CAD markets, transforming complex payment hurdles into seamless, automated systems. This isn't a traditional operations role. It’s for someone who thrives in an environment of fast-paced growth and autonomy, whose simple but ambitious goal is to make our North American payment rails so efficient they feel seamless for our customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in Product Operations, Business Operations, or Process Optimization within a high-growth tech environment.
  • Proficient in SQL and LightDash. You don't just look at data; you find the narrative within it.
  • Track record of taking mid-to-large-scale initiatives from "vague idea" to "successful launch."
  • Ability to explain a complex technical bottleneck to a stakeholder and a business need to a developer without losing the "why" in translation.
  • Thrive in the ambiguity of a scale-up. You are comfortable making decisions with 80% of the information and course-correcting at speed.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of North American payment rails (FedWire, FedACH, FedNow, or RTP) is a massive competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Scale the "Unscalable": Audit our USD/CAD payment routes to identify manual friction. You won't just report on problems; you’ll build the automation and workflow improvements to eliminate them.
  • Bridge the Gap: Act as the strategic connective tissue between Product, Engineering, and Ops teams. You’ll translate technical constraints into operational reality and vice versa.
  • Own the Lifecycle: Lead high-impact projects from initial scoping and data analysis to final rollout. You own the "Go" button.
  • Drive Data-Informed Strategy: Use SQL and LightDash to define and track the KPIs that matter. You’ll prove your impact through metric improvements.
  • Amplify the Team: Act as a key mentor and strategic partner to Senior Specialists, guiding them through complex project delivery, scoping, and execution. Elevating the team's capabilities is a defining part of your impact.
  • SME Leadership: Serve as the North American subject matter expert. When a complex payment incident or a new regulatory shift hits, you are the first-line strategist for mitigation and resolution.
  • Build the Blueprint: Establish SLAs and KPIs for new product features, ensuring that as Wise grows, our quality never wavers.
