About The Position

Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and laws, the payment poster is responsible for accurate and timely entry of payments, contractual adjustments, and denials within the practice management system. The role involves applying general knowledge of coordination of benefit rules to accurately generate submission of balance billing to the next appropriate payer. The payment poster also recognizes and reports trends, irregularities, and discrepancies to management to maximize financial stability.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience required.
• Must be able to work at high volumes maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Robust knowledge navigating Automated Clearing House (ACH), ERA processing platforms, online banking portals, and navigation of various insurance websites.
• Knowledgeable of reimbursement policies, specifically insurance payments, claim adjustment reason codes (CARC), remittance advice remark codes (RARC), and various cost share scenarios.
• Computer skills required. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications with a strong emphasis on Excel.
• Familiarity with computerized billing/document systems; ability to effectively and efficiently operate multiple payer systems; files claims, makes recommendations regarding best practice, and operates common office equipment (i.e., PC calculator, etc.).
• Strong demonstration of HIPAA and privacy laws.
