About The Position

Utopia is an ultra-luxury hospitality and lifestyle brand developing private villa retreats and a wider ecosystem of leisure experiences and services. The company designs and builds its properties in-house, working across concept, architecture, construction, interiors, landscape, guest experience, and long-term operations.

The Payment Operations Specialist will join Utopia’s finance team and support the day-to-day execution of payment workflows, reconciliation processes, and financial reporting. The role helps ensure money moves accurately and on time and involves collaboration with internal finance and accounting teams, as well as external banking and payment providers. It is suited to someone early in their finance career who wants hands-on experience in financial operations in a fast-paced, process-driven environment. Utopia values precision, ownership, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

The position is remote-first, with collaboration in the LATAM time zone. It offers the opportunity to work on international luxury hospitality projects and grow within the Financial function as the company scales.

Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with payment processing and bank reconciliation.
• Comfortable meeting tight deadlines and handling high-volume work.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, with examples in reconciliation, auditing, or data entry.
• Fluency in English.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in one or more of the following languages: Russian, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Execute domestic and international payment transactions and verify payment details and authorizations.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve payment failures, chargebacks, and discrepancies.
• Prepare daily cash position reports, payment summaries, and operations dashboards.
• Document workflows, flag inefficiencies, and suggest automation opportunities.
• Support compliance by ensuring transactions adhere to AML, KYC, and internal control policies.
