About The Position

At O-I, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an energetic and hands-on HR professional to support our manufacturing team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing employee support, payroll administration, employee engagement, recruiting, benefits, and day-to-day HR operations in a dynamic plant environment. The Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist will assist in the execution of staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning. This hands-on position is responsible for driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives. As the Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist, you'll partner closely with plant leadership and employees to deliver exceptional HR support while helping create a positive, engaging, and high-performing workplace.

Requirements

Strong payroll knowledge and experience supporting hourly employees.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice To Haves

Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business or Human Resources is preferred
Previous Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment with modern HR processes
Knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP are a plus

Responsibilities

Process and support hourly payroll activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders across the plant.
Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.
Administer employee benefits programs and answer employee questions.
Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Coordinate employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and plant-wide communication initiatives.
Assist with performance management, training, and talent development activities.
Support employee and labor relations efforts, including working in a unionized environment when applicable.
Partner with plant leadership to address workforce needs and drive a positive employee experience.
Maintain a regular presence on the manufacturing floor to build relationships, support employees, and stay connected to plant operations.
Assist with HR projects and initiatives that support business objectives and continuous improvement.
