About The Position

This position involves bagging, scaling, and grading chicken paws as they move along a conveyor belt. The role requires visually inspecting paws for defects such as mangling, discoloration, and remaining skin or nails. Paws that do not meet the grade are discarded, and unsalvageable ones are placed in a condemn barrel. A key responsibility is bagging and weighing 40-50 pounds of paws, then lifting them to box height. The position also emphasizes teamwork, participation in ongoing development of team concepts, and adherence to Simmons Operating systems principles. Team members are expected to maintain familiarity with quality, security, and office environment systems, and communicate concerns or improvement ideas. The role may also involve other duties to support business objectives.

• Be able to read and understand a scale.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and grade paws as they pass across the belt.
• Grades paws for mangling, discoloration and excess skin and nails that remain on paws.
• Discards the paws not graded out.
• Place unsalvageable paws in the condemn barrel.
• Bags and weights 40-50 pounds of paws and lift above waist level to box.
• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
