About The Position

Cannonball Recruiting is seeking multiple Paving Laborers for a paving and excavating company in York, Pennsylvania. The work is primarily local. The pay rate is $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience.

Paving Laborers perform hands-on work supporting asphalt paving, including finishing edges and joints, monitoring paving quality, preparing sites, and using small tools and a walk-behind road saw. The role requires physical labor and work in heat and/or near hot asphalt. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, driver’s license check, and background check.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in heat and/or near hot asphalt.
• Communication and problem-solving skills.
• Time-management and productivity skills.
• Positive attitude and self-motivation.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, driver’s license check, and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous asphalt paving experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Seal joints and correct mat defects using specialized rakes.
• Shovel, rake, and broom to finish edges and joints after equipment work is complete.
• Monitor the asphalt mat for flaws, voids, or inconsistencies and immediately report issues to the foreman.
• Use small tools and a walk-behind road saw.
• Apply AC-20 on vertical edges and seal new paving joints.
• Clean debris and remove obstructions before paving begins.
