About The Position

The Patriot Interoperability Test Team is responsible for supporting the test and evaluation of components and technologies developed for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. We are hiring an Interoperability and Test Engineer with 5-10 years of experience. The Interoperability Test and Evaluation Engineer will work with a diverse team of HW, SW, and Operational testers to plan, execute, and analyze real-time test results from test events and experiments involving Patriot software, adapted versions of existing weapons and sensors, internal interfaces, and external interfaces with other Army and Joint systems in both live and virtual test environments. The position requires the Test and Evaluation Engineer to provide Interoperability subject matter expertise, analyze platform documentation to provide direction to meet platform interoperability requirements, as well as provide support to assist systems in achieving communication link certifications including, but not limited to, Army Interoperability Certification (AIC) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Certification. The candidate should be able to perform requirements analysis, author test plans and procedures, understand/analyze data link Military Standards, perform/oversee general lab integration activities, and direct Service Level Tests (SLTs). The candidate should be flexible, a self-starter, able to operate with minimal supervision as an individual contributor, or in collaboration with other Team members. Oral and written communication skills are essential as well as the ability to create and deliver effective presentations and technical documentation is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Apply well developed test and evaluation methodologies to support our Patriot customer in achieving their test goals.
  • Assess and evaluate Tactical Data Links in a simulated warfighting environment such as Link-16 in conjunction with MIL-STD 6016, JREAP in conjunction with MIL-STD 3011, Link 11A/B, etc.
  • Assess Interoperability of Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) and Common Interactive Broadcast (CIB) Common Message Format (CMF) interfaces.
  • Assist in the definition of test cases and provide technical direction in the preparation of appropriate test stimulus to realize those test cases.
  • Author/develop test plans and procedures.
  • Author/develop detailed test reports and technical white papers as required to include performing independent analysis of the test data, reviewing analysis results from other team members, reconciling discrepancies, and organizing results for report/presentation.
  • Interact with site personnel to coordinate test lab architecture and configurations.
  • Operate accredited test software including IES and NSITE.
  • Complete Software Problem Reports.
  • Represent the Patriot Interoperability team at meetings as required (e.g. TIMs, AITRB, TRRs, etc.).
  • Identify test and evaluation requirements from customer requirements documentation, goals, and objectives.
  • Maintain working knowledge of changes to data link Military Standards.
  • Provide input to the AITRB for Interface Change proposals of data link Military Standards.
  • Coordinate with the Army Network Design Facility (ANDF) for support.
  • Recommend specific instrumentation, processing, communication, and data collection requirements for the test environment, satisfy those requirements, and verify implementations.
  • Support the verification of tools used for stimulus preparation, run-time instrumentation, post processing of data logs, and detailed analysis. Identify and specify new tools as needs arise.
