About The Position
The Patient/Visitor Liaison - Guest Services role is part of the Guest Services department, specifically focusing on Front Intake, Spa, and Fitness. This PRN position involves evenings and weekends with rotating 8-hour shifts at the UAB St. Vincent's One Nineteen location. The role acts as a crucial link between guests, staff, and patients, handling inquiries, concerns, and information requests while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational privacy policies. The liaison is also responsible for identifying safety and maintenance issues, contributing to patient satisfaction, and proactively resolving potential problems to anticipate family needs.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted, preferred.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between guests, staff and patients to respond to patient and guest information inquiries.
- Receive, screen, route and/or respond to all incoming inquiries for information, directions or concerns.
- Receive guest suggestions and complaints and escalate through proper channels.
- Provide patient information in compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements and organizational privacy policies.
- Identify and report issues of safety and maintenance.
- Assist in improving patient satisfaction while keeping volunteer office management informed of potential problems.
- Anticipate family's needs and resolve issues before they become major source of concern.
