About The Position

The Patient/Visitor Liaison - Guest Services role is part of the Guest Services - Front Intake, Spa, Fitness department. This is a full-time position with rotating 8-hour shifts, covering Sunday through Saturday, located at UAB. St. Vincent's One Nineteen. The role acts as a liaison between guests, staff, and patients, responding to inquiries, concerns, and providing patient information in compliance with HIPAA. The liaison also handles guest suggestions and complaints, identifies safety and maintenance issues, and works to improve patient satisfaction by anticipating and resolving family needs.

Requirements

BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted, preferred.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between guests, staff and patients to respond to patient and guest information inquiries.
Receive, screen, route and/or respond to all incoming inquiries for information, directions or concerns.
Receive guest suggestions and complaints and escalate through proper channels.
Provide patient information in compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements and organizational privacy policies.
Identify and report issues of safety and maintenance.
Assist in improving patient satisfaction while keeping volunteer office management informed of potential problems.
Anticipate family's needs and resolve issues before they become major source of concern.
