About The Position

Saint Luke’s East is seeking a part-time Patient Transporter to join their team. The Service Associate functions as a Patient Transporter, moving patients via wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons, utilizing manual or computerized job assignments. The role involves utilizing infection prevention and patient transfer techniques, maintaining knowledge of appropriate routes for safe and efficient patient movement. Good communication with nursing clinical staff is required, as is the ability to recognize when to ask for help or continued guidance. The transporter will also maintain and protect the integrity of patients' tubes, lines, and collection devices, and will move patient valuables and equipment.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Move patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital.
