Patient Transporter - Part Time
About The Position
Saint Luke’s Hospital at the Plaza is seeking a Patient Transporter to join their team. The Service Associate functions as a Patient Transporter who will move patients by wheelchair or cart throughout the hospital for various reasons, utilizing manual or computerized job assignments. This is a part-time position requiring 30 hours per week, with shifts on Friday from 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and Saturday & Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Weekend and holiday rotation is required, and employees must be able to work the exact shift listed. The role involves utilizing infection prevention techniques, patient transfer techniques, and knowledge of appropriate routes to ensure safe and efficient patient movement. Good communication with nursing clinical staff is essential. Responsibilities include recognizing when to ask for help, maintaining the integrity of patient tubes, lines, and collection devices, and moving patient valuables and equipment.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross certification.
