About The Position

TouchPoint Support Services is hiring full-time and part-time Patient Transporters at Seton Medical Center Austin in Austin, Texas. The role facilitates internal hospital patient moves and is responsible for safely, timely, and accurately transporting patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary and rotating weekends. Pay is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Previous related experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients, secure IVs and drainage tubes, and ensure patients are secured.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to transport patients.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting all specific age groups.
• Transport patients to their destinations safely, accurately, and promptly using the proper requested equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
• Attend to patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation; do not transport patients in severe pain.
• Immediately alert nursing staff to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report equipment that needs repair.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO standards.
• Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies outlined in facility HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
