PATIENT TRANSPORTER (PART TIME)
About The Position
TouchPoint Support Services is hiring a part-time Patient Transporter at Henry Ford Providence Novi in Novi, Michigan. The role facilitates internal hospital patient moves and is responsible for safely, promptly, and accurately transporting patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations. The position requires attentive patient care, effective communication with hospital personnel, maintenance of transport equipment, and compliance with regulatory standards and facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies. Previous related experience is preferred. The schedule is part time, with days and hours that may vary and rotating weekends and holidays. The listed pay range is $15.00 to $18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, secure IVs and drainage tubes, and secure patients appropriately.
- Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to transport patients.
- Demonstrate competency in transporting all specific age groups.
- Ensure patients are transported safely, promptly, and accurately to their destinations using the requested equipment.
- Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
- Attend to patient comfort by offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation; do not transport patients in severe pain.
- Alert nursing staff immediately to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
- Maintain equipment and report equipment that needs repair.
- Comply with applicable regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO standards.
- Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies, including HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
