About The Position

TouchPoint Support Services, part of Compass Healthcare, is hiring a part-time Patient Transporter at Henry Ford Providence Novi in Novi, Michigan. The role is responsible for safely, accurately, and promptly transporting patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items within the hospital. The schedule varies by day and hour and includes rotating weekends and holidays. The pay range is $15.00 to $18.00 per hour. Previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients, secure them, and properly manage IVs, drainage tubes, and similar equipment during transport.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling equipment to transport patients.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting patients across all specific age groups.
• Ensure patients are transported safely, promptly, and accurately to their destinations using the requested equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, reception, and dispatch.
• Attend to patient comfort, including offering blankets, ensuring modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation.
• Do not transport patients who are in severe pain.
• Immediately alert nursing staff to signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report equipment that needs repair.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO standards.
• Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies and HIPAA procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
