About The Position

Transporters disconnect and reconnect oxygen at the patient-room wall connection and monitor oxygen tank levels during transport. They safely move patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. The position also transports deceased patients and death paperwork to the morgue, secures patients in controlled cold-temperature storage, records morgue inventory, and documents the time a patient is placed in cold storage. Other duties include storing beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other items; identifying the correct bed type for delivery; using PPE in all room types, including isolation rooms; disposing of soiled linen; sanitizing transport equipment with chemicals before and after each use; and maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
